While this is nothing to joke about, I am flabbergasted that they had to issue a recall. 

I'd like to recall the parents instead.    The product isn't faulty, the parents are.  What good is a recall going to do if the parents are at fault?  The manufacturer can re-issue the product with a bigger and better warning label and instruction packet, but I find it doubtful that some already slack-ass-non-instruction-reading parent is going to read an even larger manual.
